About

A safe space to understand, heal, and grow

Hello, I am Yvaine. I’m a mental health counselor based in Seattle, Washington, dedicated to supporting adult clients navigating through the complexities of identity, belonging, relationships, and emotional wellbeing. Focusing on your unique story rather than standard checklists, I specialize in navigating identity transitions, grief, and relationship stress. Together, we safely map out where external noises end and your true self begins. By blending mind-body somatic tools with practical skills, you will learn to handle stress and live with clarity and peace. My Integrative Orientations • Adlerian Individual Psychology • Attachment Theory/Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT - individual) • Existentialism • Mindfulness-based and somatic practices • Narrative and cognitive-behavioral interventions • Culturally responsive, trauma-informed care I hold space for both growth and discomfort, knowing that healing often involves courage, tenderness, and the willingness to look inward. Education, Credentials, & Clinical Experiences I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate (#70133793) in the state of Washington. I hold a Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from Wake Forest University, an institution recognized for its rigorous clinical training standards. To ensure the highest standard of clinical excellence and ethical care, I participate in professional consultation and practice under the supervision of Emily Ehrhart, LMHC. My clinical background involves intensive work with diverse populations, including first‑ and second‑generation immigrant adults, adolescents, individuals experiencing grief and loss, and clients navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, and identity‑related concerns. About Me As a first-generation Chinese American immigrant, my path to becoming a therapist grew from my own journey of reclaiming my identity. Caught between traditional family expectations and corporate success, I had it all on paper but was running on empty inside. A stress-induced wake-up call forced me to pause and face deep existential questions about what I truly wanted. Through my own therapeutic healing and mindfulness, I broke away from old scripts and discovered my true self. Today, I help clients drowning in the demands of life, questioning their purpose, or navigating major identity transitions. Together, we will unpack the pressures holding you back, unearth your authentic self, and reconnect you with your own innate wisdom.
